Statement
Tactile perception is my way of relating to the environment. I work with objects because I understand them as mediators and containers of my experience in the world, because they influence my relationship with it. For me, working manually with tools and materials is a direct experience, a form of intuitive, non-verbal, and non-rational thought.
That is why work makes visible and legible the reality I inhabit.
Therefore, I propose my objects as thresholds of perceptual encounter with the other. It deals with the search for balance between matter and the intangible it contains. I work with handcrafted assemblages using common materials (wood, resins, clay, metal, sound) and primarily with paper, since, for me, it is a fragile container of intangible relationships that transite in space.
The central interest of my creative work is the manifestation of the vital impulse, the infinite forms and dimensions in which life manifests and transforms, understood as a singular, indeterminate, and impermanent process. Therefore, I work with a notion of space where all form is emptiness and all emptiness is form. An alive space whose continuous flow manifests itself in diverse material densities.
This is how I observe the relationships and interactions that occur in this vital space to question the constitution of reality. About how the subjective is a tenuous membrane that mediates between material experience and its insubstantiality, an illusion contained within humanity that is, in turn, contained within the universe. This is why I am particularly interested in how the sensory experience of the world defines the way in which human beings relate to it.
In short, my work it´s about the life force that transforms beyond human consciousness and rationality.
I create art to get outside of myself and maintain my inner balance, to connect with the universe of others. For generate serenity.
